The Kidney Research Institute of Texas Supports Kidney Disease Prevention, Research, and Technology Innovation to Improve Patient Care

The Kidney Research Institute of Texas was established in 2018 by Bill and Danielle Gottfried to support kidney disease prevention, kidney disease research, and technology innovation to improve the quality of life of kidney patients. The Kidney Research Institute of Texas was formed in honor of Gottfried Family Members who have suffered from, and died from, kidney disease, including Bill Gottfried’s Father, Henry William Gottfried, Jr., CDR, US Navy. We are committed to accelerating investment in programs and initiatives to prevent and cure kidney disease and improve patient care.

One-third of the world’s population is at risk for kidney disease (source: Dialysis Patient Citizens, National Kidney Foundation, Center for Disease Control, Johns Hopkins University). Kidney disease is a worldwide pandemic that has not, unfortunately, received the attention and visibility required to significantly ramp up investment in areas of prevention, research, and innovation in patient care. The Kidney Research Institute of Texas’s goal is to accelerate global investment to address the worldwide kidney disease pandemic.

The Kidney Research Institute of Texas is working with the investment community in the U.S. and Europe, and with the philanthropic and endowment communities in the U.S. and Europe, to raise capital that will be committed to kidney disease prevention, research, and technology innovation. These activities are ongoing and will accelerate in 2021. Bill and Danielle Gottfried have invested over $150,000.00 (USD) to establish The Kidney Research Institute of Texas.
