The Kidney Research Institute of Texas continues to press forward to support the kidney patient community in Houston. Bill and Danielle Gottfried, the founders of The Kidney Research Institute of Texas, will be initiating a capital campaign to support programs focused on kidney disease prevention, kidney disease research, and technology innovation to improve the lives of kidney patients, including investments to accelerate dialysis technology innovation, renal replacement therapies, and artificial kidney technology. Dialysis technology has not changed in over 40 years, thereby causing kidney patients to continue to suffer and have massively reduced quality of life. Bill Gottfried’s Father died from kidney failure 40 years ago, the dialysis machines he was on then are the same machines in use today at dialysis clinics. This is a tragic and unfortunate situation. The major dialysis providers have done nothing to improve the lives of kidney patients. We are committed to bringing dialysis technology innovation into the 21st Century and dramatically improving the lives of kidney patients. The Kidney Research Institute of Texas is committed to, and focused on, this goal.

Bill and Danielle Gottfried established The Kidney Research Institute of Texas in Houston; we are committed to finding the cure for kidney disease. Bill's Father, Henry William Gottfried, Jr., died early in his life from kidney failure and Bill has had other Family members afflicted by kidney disease. Danielle has had Family members suffer from kidney disease and kidney failure. Our goal is to raise investments that will be allocated directly to the leading kidney research and kidney dialysis technology innovation teams in Houston, around the U.S., and worldwide that are conducting leading edge research on finding the cure for kidney disease and improving patient care. Bill Gottfried has been involved in the biotechnology industry since the early 1980's, the dawn of the biotechnology era. He has supported biotechnology and health care investment in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and he recruited the management team for the first biotechnology company that was established in Houston. Bill has provided capital formation, executive search, and strategic planning expertise to biotechnology industry clients for over 30 years. He was a founding member of BIOHouston and the Biotechnology Industry Organization in Washington, D.C. View all posts by Bill and Danielle Gottfried, Founders of The Kidney Research Institute of Texas
